1. Acceptance Of Terms

By using Soil Identifier, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. What The Service Does

Soil Identifier uses AI to generate soil reports from photos — including soil type, texture, pH estimate, drainage, fertility, amendments, crop suggestions, and more. The reports are educational and experimental in nature.

3. Your Responsibilities

• Provide accurate details when you create an account
• Do not upload illegal, harmful, or unrelated imagery
• Do not try to abuse, overload, or circumvent the service
• Respect the intellectual property of others

4. Disclaimer

Results are provided for general educational purposes. Soil Identifier is not a certified laboratory. Do not rely on AI-generated pH, nutrient, or contamination readings for commercial agriculture, construction, public health, or any decision with significant financial, safety, or legal consequences. For those, send a sample to an accredited lab or your local cooperative extension.

5. Disclaimer Agreement

By using Soil Identifier, you also agree to the terms outlined in our AI Identification Disclaimer. The Disclaimer includes important information about the limitations of our AI-powered identifications and of every other piece of information presented on Soil Identifier — including the encyclopedia, reference pages, guides, articles, and community submissions — all of which may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information and must not be relied on as expert, safety, medical, legal, or financial advice. The Disclaimer is an integral part of these Terms, and your use of Soil Identifier is subject to your acceptance of both.

6. Encyclopedia And Reference Content

Soil Identifier may include an encyclopedia, reference pages, guides, articles, and other informational content (“Reference Content”). Reference Content is compiled and generated with the help of automated tools and AI models and is provided for general informational purposes only. It may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information, and it has not been reviewed by qualified experts. We make no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any Reference Content or of any other information presented on Soil Identifier, and you agree not to rely on it as a substitute for professional advice or for any decision that could affect your health, safety, property, legal rights, or finances. Images shown with Reference Content may be illustrative rather than exact matches. If you believe something is wrong, please let us know at support@soilidentifier.com and we will review it.

7. Intellectual Property

You keep ownership of photos you upload. By submitting a photo, you grant us the license necessary to process it, display it in the community gallery (when marked public), and improve our AI over time. Our service, models, and software remain our property. The full license you grant us is described in the section titled “License Grant To Soil Identifier” below.

8. License Grant To Soil Identifier

By using Soil Identifier and its related apps, websites, and services (the “Services”), you grant to Soil Identifier, its successors, and assigns a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicensable, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and/or distribute any content you submit, create, or make available through the Services — including without limitation the photos and images you upload for identification; the notes, descriptions, locations, and other text you provide with them; the identifications, descriptions, estimates, and any other output produced by the Services at your direction; any collections, lists, or albums you assemble, including their names and the selection and arrangement of the items they contain; and your profile information, including your username, display name, profile picture, bio, and any links you add — regardless of whether an identification’s or collection’s visibility is public or private. This includes the right to display your uploaded photos and identifications on the community feed, on encyclopedia, species, tag, and search pages, on the websites and apps of Soil Identifier and its affiliates, and in marketing for the Services. For clarity, changing an identification’s or a collection’s visibility from public to private does not revoke or limit the license granted under this section with respect to that identification, that collection, or any content associated with it. The license granted to Soil Identifier remains in effect even after termination of this Agreement by any party, for any reason.

9. Limitation Of Liability

Soil Identifier is provided "as is" without warranties. We aren't liable for outcomes that follow from relying on a report — including crop losses, planting decisions, or contamination assessments.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
